Zerelda Albrecht, a finalist in the Mr, Miss, and Ms. Deaf South Africa pageant, hails from Benoni. Born deaf with high sensory deafness, Zerelda's journey through various schools for the deaf was challenging, yet she found solace and success at St. Vincent school for the deaf in Johannesburg.


Inspired to raise awareness about deafness, Zerelda aims to use her platform to advocate for more sign language availability and communication accessibility in public spaces. She hopes to shatter stereotypes and misconceptions about the Deaf community, showcasing that they are capable of anything like everyone else. Facing obstacles in preparing for the competition, Zerelda's unique perspective as a Deaf individual sets her apart. Through her talent in drawing, she aims to convey a message of unity and equality for all. With a dream of more job opportunities for the Deaf community, Zerelda perseveres to make a positive impact and create a more inclusive society. As she competes, Zerelda's ultimate goal is to achieve representation and visibility for the Deaf community in the pageant industry, while inspiring others to break barriers and embrace diversity.
